Department Executive Secretary
Sandie Deutsch

Sandie started as the Department Secretary in October 2011. Sandie has 25+ years background in office management. Sandie belongs to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 79 in Montgomery and is currently the treasurer of the Unit. She became a member under her father Joe Speikers Jr, a World War II Navy Veteran. She is married to Shorty Deutsch and has three children, Nikki (Butch) Kubes of Montgomery, Melissa (Jeff) Nelson of Streetman, Texas and Brad Deutsch of Wautaga, Texas. The light of her life is her four grandchildren, John and Claire Kubes and Frankie and Cade Nelson.

Cathy joined the Department office in June of 2010 as the Department Treasurer. Cathy has 20 plus years in the banking and accounting fields, with a Degree in Banking & Finance. She has been a member of the Dodge Center, Wells Peterson Unit #384 since 1998. Joining under her father, Darrold Flury a Korean War Veteran. Cathy has three married sons, Ryan (Staci) of West Concord, Robert (Laura) of Thief River Falls and Patrick (Jamie) of Fargo. She also has four wonderful grandchildren, Grace, Jacob, Lucas and Nora and expecting the newest arrival in October.

Kristie started as the Membership Coordinator for the Department Office in December 2011. Kristies' professional background has been in both finance and Executive Management. She recently became an Auxiliary Member with the Hugo post #620 joining under her father Michael James Huskey Sr, who served in Vietnam. Kristie has two beautiful daughters Paige (10) and Kylie (7) who keep her very busy when she is not at work.
