The National American Legion Auxiliary also offers a wide variety of scholarships to both members and non-members of the Auxiliary.  Please review the criteria below to determine which scholarship you may qualify for.

National President's Scholarship: Fifteen scholarships are awarded to daughters, sons,step-daughters and step-sons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces during eligibility dates for the American Legion.  Applicants must be in their senior year of high school and must have completed at least fifty (50) hours of volunteer service in his/her community.  Applicants do not need to be members of The American Legion or the American Legion Auxiliary.

Spirit of Youth Scholarship: One scholarship per division in the amount of $1,000.00 per year for four years ($4,000.00) will be awarded to a Junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  The applicant must be in her senior year of high school and must have been a Junior member for at least three years prior to the scholarship being awarded and must maintain her membership for duration of the scholarship.  Click here to download a 2008-2009 Spirit of Youth Scholarship form.

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship: One $1,000.00 scholarship will be awarded in each division to a member of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion.  Applicants for this scholarship must have either have their education interrupted or have completed one year of college and have financial need to continue their undergraduate degree.  Applicants must be members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion for at least two years prior to application.

Samsung Scholarship: Available to descedents of wartime veterans who also participated in either the Girls State or Boys State program.

Girls Scout Achievement Award Scholarship: This scholarship is available to Girl Scouts who have achieved the Gold Award, participated in her religious institution and have received the appropriate religious emblem.  Membership in The American Legion Auxiliary is not required for this scholarship.  Click here to download a 2008-2009 Girl Scout Scholarship application.
