The Department of Minnesota is proud to support and provide a variety of scholarship opportunities to assist students (both members and non-members of the American Legion Auxiliary) who wish to continue their education beyond high school. Please review the criteria for each scholarship to determine which scholarship(s) you may be eligible for.

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Seven (7) $1,000.00 scholarships available for one year to Minnesota residents who are children or grandchildren of a veteran who served during the eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion. Must be a high school senior or graduate. Must be a resident of the State of Minnesota or a member of the American Legion Family in Minnesota.
PAST PRESIDENT’S PARLEY
HEALTH CARE SCHOLARSHIP
Up to Ten (10) $1,000.00 scholarships awarded for one year to members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Dept. of Minnesota. Must be used for continuing her education beyond high school, in vocational or post secondary education to commence or further her education in the health care or post secondary education field.
SPIRIT OF YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP
FOR JUNIOR MEMBERS
One (1) four year ($1,000 per year) scholarship awarded to a Junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary who has held membership for the past three (3) years and is currently an Auxiliary member. Must be in her senior year of high school. Applications may be secured from the Unit where the applicant is a member.
GIRLS SCOUT ACHIEVEMENT
AWARD
Applicant must be a Girls Scout and must be in their senior year or graduate of an accredited high school. Applications available from your high school, local American Legion Auxiliary Unit or the American Legion Auxiliary State Hdqtrs., State Veterans Service Bldg., St Paul MN 55155. Applicant must present the completed application to the local American Legion Auxiliary Unit President on or before February 10th.
NON-TRADITIONAL STUDENTS
SCHOLARSHIP
One (1) $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a member of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of The American Legion. The member must have paid dues for the two preceding years and for the calendar year in which application is made.
NATIONAL PRESIDENT’S
SCHOLARSHIP
One (1) $2,500 scholarship, one (1) $2,000 scholarship, and one (1) $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a son or daughter of a veteran who served during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion. Applicant must be in their senior year of high school.
