To join The American Legion Auxiliary, you must be a grandmother, mother, sister, spouse, or direct/ adopted female descendant of:
 

• A member of the American Legion.

• A man or woman who served between 4/6/1917 to 11/11/1918, or anytime after December 7, 1941.

• Of all men and women who died after honorable discharge or in the line of duty any time after December 7, 1941 or the periods mentioned above.
