The Past President Parley is a program that brings together the experience of our former presidents and utilizes their expertise in active service to the American Legion Auxiliary. Members who have served as Unit, District and Department Presidents of the ALA are encouraged to contribute to the Auxiliary as members of the Past President Parley. These leaders are encouraged to “Keep Us Grounded” by share their wisdom and provide ongoing mentorship, to empower and booster the Auxiliary’s present leaders, ensuring the continuity and strength or the organization and help us with “Growth Through Renewal and New Members”

  • Plan on a way to recognize your Past Presidents.

• Recognize and honor your communities Female Veterans

  • Recognize the women veterans by sending greeting cards on special occasions.

  • Assist women veterans in securing medical assistance.

• Keep your Honorary Past Junior Presidents active

• The Past President Parley Health Care Scholarship

  • Consider a donation towards Past Presidents Parley Healthcare Scholarship it is for any course of study in the medical field. It is open to any American Legion Auxiliary member who has been a member for three years and their current dues are paid. It is a $1,000 scholarship and up to 10 are given each year, if the donations received from units to the Department Office have enough funds to do so, last year we only had funds for 2 scholarships. More information and applications are in the September unit mailing and will be sent out to units with the 2026-2027 Plaques and Awards material.

 

As Past Presidents you can be ambassadors for the organization knowing there is much
information to share to each level of the organization and maintain its growth with positive
actions.
